Christoph Herrmann is an academic member of staff in the research and teaching programme Urban Design since 2015. He studied architecture, history of art and cultural philosophy in Stuttgart and Paris. His work is concerned with social implications of spatial design with particular focus on sustainable urban development concepts (climate, mobility, migration, social justice, globalisation). Apart from an urban development plan for the green bled in Frankfurt and a strategic plan for Berlin’s open spaces (with Friedrich von Borries) he conceptualises, designs and implements exhibitions and publications in an interdisciplinary urban setting. In 2015, he submitted his PhD thesis on empowerment practices in urban open spaces at the University of Zurich.
