"Urban Types (UT) – Von Häusern und Menschen" fokussiert das Wohnen als Praxis und nimmt dabei die Perspektive der Bewohnenden deutlicher in den Blick. Mittels verschiedener Methoden wie Film, Foto, Zeichnung, Text und Dokumenten versucht das Seminar Methoden der Untersuchung und Erzählung anzuwenden und anhand von Haus- und Bewohner*innenbiografien zu erfahren: Wann, wie, wo und mit wem bewohnen wir die Zimmer, Häuser, Quartiere, die Stadt und die Welt? Ausdifferenzierungen unserer Lebensweisen prägen dabei zwar unsere Wohnpraktiken, nicht aber unbedingt unser Wohnverständnis oder gar unsere Wohnungen. Wofür wir uns interessieren, ist wie das alltäglich praktizierte (Be-)Wohnen in Beziehung zu den gebauten Wohnräumen steht und wir fragen uns, ob darin möglicherweise Wissensräume verborgen sind, die wir für mögliche Zukünfte des Wohnens aufschließen können? “Urban Types (UT) - Of Houses and People” focuses on housing as a practice and takes a closer look at the perspective of the residents. Using various methods such as film, photography, drawing, text and documents, the seminar attempts to apply methods of investigation and narrative and to find out about the biographies of houses and residents: When, how, where and with whom do we inhabit the rooms, houses, neighborhoods, the city and the world? Differentiations in our lifestyles shape our housing practices, but not necessarily our understanding of housing or even our homes. What we are interested in is how our everyday living is related to the built living spaces and we ask ourselves whether there might be hidden spaces of knowledge that we can open up for possible futures of living?
