The seminar "Project Management in Urban Design: The Whole House" practises the project structuring and conception of a mixed-use house to be built, starting with the identification of needs and ending with an exposé for the purchase of a plot of land. The students take on the role of project makers, clients and those who subsequently examine and reflect on the process around the project.
In relation to the lecture Project Management, they deal with skills, perceptions, theories and methods in project management in a practical way - those they already know how to apply as well as those they still lack, i.e. where they have to identify, specify and translate non-knowledge into knowledge. The theoretical-conceptional basis for this is provided by the Modes of Play procedure developed by UD for making projects and the knowledge gathered in the form of the website pm.ud.hcu-hamburg.de and the Dienstapparat 22.
