12/01/24 Liminal Cities: Excursion to Berlin
Urban Design Excursion: Liminal Cities - Urban Life in-between
On Friday January 12, we invited our students to a one-day Excursion to Berlin, visiting spaces and actors of liminality. We first had the great pleasure to visit Rebecca Wall at Urbanepraxis’ Lobby at Mehringplatz, who shared her insights in the political obstacles and structural processes of establishing “Urbane Praxis” in Berlin and beyond.
Afterwards, Moritz Ahlert gave us an introduction on the interdisciplinary research project and exhibition “spaces of solidarity”, including the transdisciplinary adjoining project “Kiosk of Solidarity”. You still have the chance to see this exhibition at DAZ berlin until 21.1.2024!
Lastly, on Sunday, some of us visited the panel discussion of the initative an.dersURANIA, that is trying to save a high-rise building from demolition through activism, artistic methods and the creation of discourse amongst political stakeholders and experts in relevant fields.
Thank you all who have hosted, inspired and discussed with us. We’re excited to see even more young and forceful actors transforming not only the way we talk and think about but also transform our cities! There is many chances to stand up for what you want to see in yours.
